Wow ... has it really been 2 months! Some days I cannot believe its only been 2 months for time that feels like its been 2 years and the longest two years of my life :-). And then other days I dont know where 2 months of my life has gone, I feel like I blinked and 2 months went by, esp looking back at the pictures. Today ... this morning when they were sweet and snuggly I felt like I blinked and 2 months it went by, and this afternoon with crying whining babies it feel like I have had them forever, see my point :-). Eitherway, every single moment that passes is "bittersweet". Its funny how it is ... you spend so much time wishing for the next moment to come and go so that they are more predictable, stronger, and more capable .. but then as I look back on the time that has already passed, I find myself wishing for so much of it back, as I will never have itty bitty babies ever again. I guess, such is life and as the saying goes ... "grass is always greener"!!
They are growing SO fast. They are still taking 3.5 to 4 ounces of formula (girls taking Gentelease and Jameson Newborn of Enfimil) every 3 hours. We have managed to get a stretch of 5 hours sometimes two times at night but not consistant times. They are all weighing in at 10 -/+lbs at 2 months old! Scarlett is still the runt of the pack and Jameson is still growing like a weed. Amelia is holding her own in the middle, but with some yummy pudgy cheeks for kissing. They are all showing their personalitites more and more, which is so neat. The girls, while VERY similar is many ways, are surely very different. Amelia is slightly more laid back and chill, but when she wants or needs something, you know it. Scarlett, while more of the "needy" of the two, in the last few months we have been able to figure out generally what she wants .. and its typically to be held and cuddled. Jameson, well, he is a horse of all different colors. He can be super simple and easy one minute like the staple of all babys, or he can be a whimpy fuss bucket and more of a girl than all three of them put together. Its interesting to watch them grow and change. Id say one of the most difficult parts we are dealing with now, is that the statistics when having four children ... is that someone always needs something and most often its two and sometimes three with needs. When its one person caring for them .. that makes it next to impossible to be able to care for all of them in the best way possible. The only good thing is that Caroline is the only one who really knows the difference so she needs to be tended to first. However, she is the most needy of all of them. She is surely facing her terrible twos and testing us every moment she can. Generally we win the battle, and she ends up learning more and more about her limits, whether she likes it or not. It isnt easy parenting all four children, esp when I feel like I am only able to give each of them 25% of me and I owe them 100%. There are days when I wonder how on earth I am going to make it to the next one, and how I will manage to come out on the other side feeling good able what I am doing, but somehow, together .. Scott and I have made it work and happy with the life and family we have build. OK, off to tend to fussy kiddos! Love to all and as always, thanks for the support and prayers!
Don't blink...before you know it they will be two years old and you will wonder where the time went. Congrats on surviving the first 2 months!
