Well, here it is 9pm and I am sitting here wet in my bathing suit as it was the first night since having the trips that I have been able to enjoy our hot tub again! Woot woot. Believe it or not, this is a milestone for me! Not only becuase I had been waiting for the "go ahead" from my doctor, but also the stability in the babies routine to be able to leave them alone for more than 30 mins without supervision (sleeping or not). As you all know, we have had some challenges with the girls eating/spitting and causing themselves to stop breathing. Well, as Im afraid to say it outloud, its been a while since weve had it happen where they havent been able to get their bodies to respond quickly. Thankfully, they have been doing a lot better. I think some of it is becuase we changed their formula, and some of it is their age and strength. The babies are now weighing ... Amelia 9lb 14oz, Scarlett 9lb 4oz, and Jameson 10lb 5oz!! So eating is no issue for them and gaining weight, well they seem to have mastered it! The good news about all of this is that I can start to focus on "babywising" them. I wanted to weight until they were at least 10 lbs and ideally 8 weeks old. The other thing I am afraid to share, is the ability to sleep a 5 hour stretch at night. I know it doesnt sound like a lot, but for us .. its huge! It means about 3 hour sleep stretches for us! Of course it still means an average of 6-8 hrs a night total, but it better than 1-2 hours at a time! Of course they still cry a lot and fight sleep regularly but this all means we are taking some steps forward a little at a time. We are also begining to put them in their crib in their room and getting a nightime routine going to help with the process of getting a full night sleep from them. As the saying goes ... "baby steps"! Im off to shower before we do their 9:30 'dream feed' but wanted to check in with the few moments I had.
As I always promise, next time I have at lease 30 mins of time to sit at the computer, I will share an update. Ta Ta for now!
