28 week doctor appt... and the gift of sisters

We are 28 weeks today!!! WOOT WOOT!!

Yummy chicken lettuse wraps - thank you PF changs - I heart you!!
Today is a BIG celebration ... the biggest milestone yet .. for me and the babies!! We have good sized babies, all measuring the same sizes; Amelia 2.13, Scarlett 2.11 and Jameson 3.0 (approx +/- 10% accuracy), and technically they could come anytime and with medical help would likely be perfectly fine!! Yesterdays appt was great! I saw my favorite doctor who shared that we still have no TTTS risk and that the babies couldnt be doing any better! He said the fact that they are all measure about the same size is exactly what we could hope for. He informed me that in all the years he has been a doctor for triplets, I am one of the "best case scenerios" he has ever seen. He continues to rave again and again about my progress, which certianly helps my confidence and hope in getting to the 35 weeks. We talked a little about the scheduled csection and it will likely be July 22 or July 26th. I met the other doctor who would be in the room for the surgery. Other than the two attedning delivering docs, there would be approx 30 medicial professionals in the room - astonishing!! We did start the topic of proactivly giving me a steriod shot that would help the babies lungs along knowing we will be having premature babies (even at 35s weeks). This is a topic we need to do a lot of research on before we meet with him next week. Needless to day, I plan to spend a bit of time on Google this week :-) If we choose to take the steriod, I will need to spend 24 hours in the hospital - which in the grand scheme isnt a big deal, but something to consider. If I started to labor, we would likely do it anyway, and the medication takes 48 hours before it could be affective.

My sister joined me for the doctor appt yesterday, and what a treat. She was VERY excited to finally see the babies on the US screen. Matter of fact, she got to my house 30 minutes early to pick me up and I am pretty sure she thought it might get her 30 more minutes of visiting with the babies via ultrasound, ha. She enjoyed meeting Dr Acker as well ... and another one of my family members left the appt in amazingment of what all of this is really going to mean, esp come D-Day (delivery day). After the appt she treated me to my favorite place on earth ... PF Changs! and all I can say is mmmmmmmmmmm!!! It was a special day and made even tearful and extra thankful that Caroline is going to be blessed with TWO sisters!! No matter how similar or different you might be - there is a bond that sisters share and I am so greatful I will have three girls to experience a one in a lifetime unconditional and emotional connection such as sisterhood.
My taxi driver and VERY excited Auntie - my dear sister, Kristi!

Kristi - Thank you for joining me yesterday. Thank you for being the most selfless person I know. Thank you for loving me unconditionally. Thank you for your ongoing support. Thank you for the excitement you have for your new nephew and nieces. Thank you for being my sister.
Thank you for being you.

It is just absolutely surreal that this is my life. I wake up each and every day and pray to God for the passing days, and I thank each of you who have been praying along with me!! We made it!! Now the big goal is to get to 33 weeks, which is the average full term triplet pregnancy. Thats "only" 5 weeks away, but for this ever growing body ... it might as well be 5 months, haha! Some days I feel complete confidence and motivation that we will make it to the 35 week scheduled csection, and then others I can imagine going another day.
All in all we made it to 28 and thats something to celebrate TODAY!

Tomorrow, June 4th is our baby shower/open house and I truly cant wait to see all the most wonderful and special people in our life who have been supporting us in SO many overwhemling and incredible ways, both near and far. Its becuase of all of you that I make it one more passing day!! Love you and thank you for being fabulous!!
